The Slowdown Tower Card is the predefined reward for a one Star win on "The Siege of Figaro". It is a support-purpose card which deals little damage but has a hefty slowdown effect. Indeed, it deals extremely low damage, but smartly hits different targets each time to ensure maximum effectiveness.

Abilities and Upgrades[]

Battle Upgrades can be improved after being placed on the battlefield. Upgrading abilities during a battle costs Mana. As your Tower increases in level, your abilities and upgrades can also increase in power, but at a higher Mana cost. Not all abilities change or upgrade with level.

Slowdown Tower has two abilities that help in slowing down enemies. Time Warp teleports a single enemy backwards every few seconds and Astral Shackles freezes an enemy for a certain amount of time.

Defensive Strategy[]

Slowdown Tower is widely believed to be the most useful Tower in Crazy Kings. Although it does single target attack, Slowdown Tower smartly hits different units so that the whole horde of enemy units are put under freeze effect. This Tower has a high attack speed and low Mana cost of construction.

Slowdown Tower is the crucial element in almost every strategy, unable to inflict powerful damage, the slow effect of this tower is unique and strongly advised for every lay-out. Slowdown Tower is usually combined with AoE (Area of effect) Towers like Volcano Tower, Crossbow Tower, Pirate Tower, and Poison Tower. It also allows other single-target Towers like Archer Towers and Bolas Towers to have more hits on the enemies as they walk slower on the lane.

The placement of Slowdown Towers can be tricky; you should spread them all along the roads to guarantee that enemies are slowed from the beginning to the end. It's not wise to place two Slowdown Towers next to each other, unless there are two separated lanes and one Tower can't ensure the entire slow function.

The two upgrade abilities (Time Warp and Astral Shackles) seem not to be powerful against big waves of enemies, however, it's ultra effective when it is applied in countering bigger enemies such as Minotaur Brutes and Egg Knights, as they have slow Speed to begin with. In some hard levels, after killing all the small HP troops, you can quickly upgrade Slowdown Tower to teleport back or freeze more powerful enemies, so that you can be given more time to kill them. As evident in the Upgrades table above, when you have Level 2 Astral Shackles and Level 1 Time Warp, no single enemy may pass by this Tower due to the abilities' equal time of freezing and teleporting.
